Help centre On tournament day
The internet has gone down at the venue
The phone scorer retries every 5 s by itself and keeps a copy in that tab: don't close or reload it. The “Today” dashboard doesn't retry by itself: tap “Try again” without closing the window.
- Don't close the scorer tab or reload the page. Keep scoring: the points stay on the phone.
- When the connection comes back, the scorer saves the latest score by itself. Wait until you see “Saved” at the top.
- If you tapped “Yes, finish” while offline, the match is still not finished: with “Saved” showing, tap “Finish match” again.
- To get connected sooner, switch from wifi to mobile data or use a hotspot from another phone.
- If the outage drags on, carry on on paper.
What's saved and what can be lost
- Scorer (phone): saves half a second after each point. Offline, it shows “Offline. Retrying…” and tries again every 5 s. The copy is only in that tab: if the tab or the browser is closed, anything scored since the last “Saved” is lost.
- “Today” dashboard: doesn't retry by itself or keep a copy. It shows “You’re offline. Check your connection and try again.”: leave the score window open and tap “Try again” when the connection is back. If you close it, anything unsaved is lost.
- Website and TV screen: need a connection to update and catch up when it returns.
TournAI has no offline mode: even if you install it on your phone, it needs internet to save and see results.
Bring a printed “Order of play” and a few paper scoresheets.
If you need this, tell us from the assistant (“Write to a person”): it helps us decide what to improve.
