Describing the tournament in one sentence
On the home page, type something like “U12, 16 teams, 3 courts, Saturday in the morning” and tap “Create tournament”: TournAI fills in the form with what it recognises and you check it. It understands all 8 of the site's languages.
- On the home page, tap “Select your sport” and pick yours.
- Type the tournament in one sentence in the text box (up to 500 characters), in any of the site's languages. While it's empty, the box shows changing examples for your sport, such as “16 pairs, 4 courts, Saturday morning”.
- Tap “Create tournament” or press Enter (Shift+Enter adds a line break).
- Check the form, type in the team names and tap “See proposal”.
TournAI looks for key words in what you type and fills in the form. It recognises:
- The sport (if you name a different one, it overrides the selector).
- How many teams, pairs or players (2 to 64) and how many courts or pitches (1 to 32), in figures or in words.
- The category: U12, U14, U16…, Junior, Senior or Veterans.
- Dates: “today”, “tomorrow”, “Saturday”, “weekend”, “14 November” or “14/11”.
- Times: “in the morning” (9 to 14), “in the afternoon” (16 to 21) or “from 9 to 14”. If you say nothing, 9:00 to 20:00.
Based on the number of teams it suggests a format: up to 6, league; 7 to 12, 2 groups + knockout; 13 to 24, 4 groups; more, 8 groups. 2 go through from each group. It never makes up names: you get “Team 1, 2…” (or “Pair” in padel, tennis and beach volleyball).
Anything it misses, you change in the form. If it recognises nothing, you'll see “We didn’t recognise any details in your sentence: fill in the form and press “See proposal”.” And if you tap “Create tournament” without typing anything, you go straight to the form.
“Weekend” sets Saturday and Sunday, but the Free plan and the trial only allow 1 day per tournament.
