A tie on a qualifying position

If two or more teams are still level on everything in a qualifying position, TournAI warns you with “Tie in group…: decide who goes through”. Tap “Decide the tie”, order them under your rules and confirm: the knockout match fills in by itself.

  1. Check that all the group's matches are finished: if one is missing, the knockout match waits too.
  2. Go over the results. If one was wrong, fix it with “Correct result”: sometimes the tie disappears.
  3. If the tie is real, you'll see the warning in “Today” and in the tournament. Tap “Decide the tie”.
  4. Order the teams with “Move up” and “Move down” as your rules say (head-to-head, a draw in front of the captains…). The first one takes the higher place.
  5. Tap “Confirm this order”. The knockout matches now show the teams and can be started.

The standings show “Tie decided by the organiser on (date).” so everyone can see it.

TournAI doesn't choose for you: apply your rules and announce it. You're responsible for the decision. If you later correct a result in that group, the tie decision is undone and, if they're still level, you'll have to decide it again.

Put in the tournament's “Rules” what you'll do if teams are still level after TournAI's criteria.
